Alabama coach Nick Saban says safety Mark Barron will miss the Crimson Tide's bowl game after having surgery to repair a torn muscle.
Barron told reporters after the Crimson Tide's regular-season finale against Auburn that he tore his right pectoral trying to break up a second-quarter touchdown catch by Emory Blake. Barron said it affected him later on a 70-yard TD pass to Terrell Zachery when he couldn't raise his arm.
Saban said Thursday that Barron had surgery to repair a torn muscle and started rehabilitating the injury, but won't be back in time for a bowl.
Barron leads the team with 75 tackles and also has three interceptions.
