Arkansas CB Tevin Mitchel carted off

Arkansas cornerback Tevin Mitchel was taken from the field on a stretcher after a helmet-to-helmet collision with teammate Alonzo Highsmith in the fourth quarter against Louisiana-Monroe on Saturday night.

He was injured with 7:26 remaining in the game while making a third-down tackle against the Warhawks. Arkansas said he was responsive on the field, and was not more specific than to say the injury was ''above the shoulders.''

The No. 8 Razorbacks were up 28-21 at the time of Mitchel's injury.
