Auburn's Chris Davis ran into the end zone and etched his name in college football lore - and ruined Alabama's bid for a third consecutive national championship.

That was just one of the highlights of a rivalry week that altered the landscape for the upcoming bowl season.

Davis returned a missed field goal 109 yards for a touchdown on the last play as the Tigers stunned the top-ranked Crimson Tide 34-28.

''There's no doubt that he'll (Davis) always be remembered,'' says Doug Flutie, best known for his Hail Mary pass to Gerard Phelan to lift No. 8 Boston College over No. 12 Miami in 1984.

New No. 1 Florida State beat rival Florida, and the Seminoles are in position to play second-ranked Ohio State for the BCS title after the Buckeyes held off Michigan 42-41.

Missouri beat Heisman Trophy winner Johnny Manziel and Texas A&M 28-21 and will play in its first SEC championship - against Auburn.

Other rivalry games saw South Carolina knock off Clemson, Oregon beat Oregon State, Stanford get past Notre Dame and UCLA top Southern California.

Here is a galley of photos from a memorable week in college football.
