Amid legal woes, TCU's Devonte Fields transfers to Stephen F. Austin

Expect an announcement from FCS program Stephen F. Austin on Thursday that former TCU star DE Devonte Fields is officially transferring in, a source told FOX Sports.
Fields, the preseason Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year, has been "separated" from the university in connection with a misdemeanor assault arrest. On Wednesday, he tweeted that he was transferring to Stephen F. Austin. The school had no official comment on Fields, but a source said the FCS program will have one to announce the top pass rusher's arrival Thursday.
Fields has been accused of striking an ex-girlfriend and threatening her with a gun.
Fields, who was suspended early last season for a violation of team policy, was the 2012 Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year after making 10 sacks as a true freshman.
The Lumberjacks are in their first season under new head coach Clint Conque.
