Alcorn State opens with 55-7 win over Lynchburg

LORMAN, Miss. (AP) Darryan Ragsdale threw for one touchdown and rushed for two more as Alcorn State rolled to a 55-7 win over Virginia Lynchburg on Saturday.
Ragsdale got the Braves off to a quick start in their season opener, connecting with Jordan Payne for a touchdown on their opening drive.
Ragsdale's first career rushing touchdown made it 24-0 in the opening seconds of the second quarter. His second touchdown in the third quarter made it 41-0.
In-between, Charles Hughes had his first score and Haiden McCraney made his second field goal for a 34-0 lead at the half.

Josh Ivery scored to make it 48-0 before the Dragons finally got on the board. Ivery then added his second touchdown.
