AD Tanner compares Muschamp to Mark Dantonio and Nick Saban

Alabama head coach Nick Saban and Michigan State head man Mark Dantonio have combined for 185 victories, eight conference titles, and three National Championships at their current institutions.

Via SEC Country, South Carolina Athletic Director Ray Tanner spoke about the decision to hire new head coach Will Muschamp -- and the similarities between his selected program leader and the aforementioned duo above.

"We hired a coach who was very special, and he's even more special now than he was at the point based on his experience that he has gone through," said Tanner. "He won 28 games at Florida. Nick Saban won 28 games in his first four years as a head coach. Mark Dantonio, he won 25 games in his first four years."

If Muschamp has half of the success Saban and Dantonio have enjoyed, fans in Columbia will be doing cartwheels.
