61-year-old kicks extra point in college game

Thompson, a graduate student who was a backup kicker in high school more than 40 years ago, was put into the game for the first time this season to try for an extra point against Trinity University.

Despite having to adjust to a messy snap, Thompson was successful.

It wasn't enough for third-division Austin, though. It lost 44-10.
