Floyd Mayweather'€™s handlers had threatened to cancel their boxer'€™s Saturday fight vs. Marcos Maidana because of what they claimed was insufficient padding in Maidana'€™s gloves, but that dispute has been resolved, Yahoo Sports reported Saturday.

Maidana wanted to wear a custom pair of powder blue gloves, but those were ruled unacceptable by the Nevada Athletic Commission because of the padding distribution.

Yahoo Sports notes that NAC chairman Francisco Aguilar did approve another set of gloves despite Mayweather also complaining about those, and ordered the sides to work out the dispute themselves.

Even before the dispute was resolved, Golden Boy fight promoter Richard Schaefer was confident that things would be smoothed over.

"Both guys want to fight," Schaefer said, per Yahoo Sports. "I'm not concerned about this issue."

Mayweather had ample financial reasons for the fight to go on, as he'€™ll take home at least $32 million. He'€™s also the prohibitive favorite in the fight.
