According to the LA Times, Robert “The Ghost” Guerrero and Marcos Maidana have committed to face one another at the HP Pavilion in San Jose on Aug. 27.
Guerrero, who has outgrown three weight classes in three years, will be making his debut in the junior welterweight division. In his last bout, Guerrero outclassed Michael Katsidis in a lightweight clash.
Maidana is coming off a tougher-than-expected victory over Erik Morales in April and, prior to that, a unanimous decision loss to Amir Khan.
Guerrrero-Maidana will be broadcast on HBO with heavyweight Seth Mitchell tentatively booked for the undercard.
