Mosley drops N.Y. suit against BALCO founder

A $12 million defamation lawsuit filed against BALCO founder Victor Conte by boxer ''Sugar'' Shane Mosley has been dismissed.
The New York Daily News says the case was ''voluntarily dismissed with prejudice and without costs, disbursements or attorney's fees to any party against another.'' That's according to a document filed on Friday in New York State Supreme Court in Manhattan. No terms were given. A case dismissed with prejudice cannot be refiled.
Mosley sued Conte in 2008, accusing him of lying when he repeatedly said the former three-division world champion knowingly took illegal performance-enhancing drugs. Conte's Bay Area Laboratory Co-Operative was at the center of the scandal that enmeshed Barry Bonds and many other athletes.
Mosley has said he unwittingly used steroids produced by BALCO.
