Keith Thurman injured in car accident, bout with Porter PPD

LOS ANGELES (AP) Keith Thurman's promoter says the unbeaten WBA welterweight champion has been injured in a car accident, forcing the postponement of his March 12 title bout against Shawn Porter.
A new date for the much-anticipated matchup wasn't immediately announced Monday.
Promoter Lou DiBella says Thurman's doctors believe the fighter's neck injury isn't serious. But Thurman (26-0, 22 KOs) hasn't been cleared to resume training for the bout slated for the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut.
Porter (26-1-1, 16 KOs) was scheduled to challenge Thurman on CBS in the network's first prime-time boxing event since 1978. The network broadcast also will be rescheduled, DiBella says.
The promoters haven't decided whether to cancel the entire show at Mohegan Sun on March 12. Abner Mares was scheduled to fight Fernando Montiel on the card.
