British boxer Audley Harrison will return to the ring 14 months after his embarrassing performance in a world heavyweight title fight.
The 40-year-old Harrison is set to face Iraqi-born Ali Adams on April 14 in Brentwood, England, on April 14. Harrison's last fight was his third-round loss to then-WBA champion David Haye in Manchester in November 2010.
Harrison, the 2000 Olympic heavyweight champion, was ridiculed by the Manchester crowd and British media after throwing only one punch in the Haye fight. He intends to make amends against Adams.
Harrison, whose record stands at 27-5, said Thursday he was ''never going to retire on that performance'' and plans to show he still has a future in the sport.
