ESSEN, Germany (AP) No antics, no singing, no goading, and no boastful declarations.
Tyson Fury's respectful demeanor at the weigh-in for his much-anticipated heavyweight bout against Wladimir Klitschko on Saturday suggested he was now concentrating solely on the task at hand.
After a buildup dominated by humor - Fury dressed up as Batman, sung to Klitschko, and complimented him on his scent, while also making wild boasts of ending his rival's long heavyweight reign - the British fighter stuck to the script on Friday, maintaining his silence during the obligatory staredown that ended with a handshake.
Fury will hold a slight weight advantage when he takes on Klitschko for his WBA, IBF and minor WBO and IBO belts, at a 55,000-seat soccer stadium in Duesseldorf.
The undefeated British fighter (24 wins, 18 KOs) weighed in at 112 kilograms (247 pounds), while Klitschko came in at 111.5 kilos (246 pounds).
The 2.09-meter (6-foot-9) Fury had been expected to weigh more. Both fighters' relative low weights suggest they are going for speed, and will do their best to end the fight prematurely.
The 39-year-old Klitschko, whose record is 64 wins with 53 knockouts from 67 fights, is 1.98-meters (6-foot-6), putting him in the unusual position of fighting a taller opponent, though Fury - 12 years his junior - tends to crouch when he fights, giving some of that advantage away.
Fury said he saw ''fear'' in Klitschko's eyes.
''I see a nervous man, on his last legs, preparing to be taken out,'' said Fury, a former British, Irish, European, and Commonwealth champion.
But Klitschko has no intention of ending his career just under four months before his 40th birthday. Four more fights have been agreed with German broadcaster RTL.
''It's still fun for me and I feel fit,'' said Klitschko, who is missing the WBC belt that his brother Vitali vacated to concentrate on politics. The older Klitschko is the mayor of Kiev, Ukraine.
Klitschko promoter Bernd Boente said the ''highest possible security measures'' will be in place following the Paris attacks, and the terror scare that led to the late cancellation of a soccer friendly between Germany and Netherlands last week in Hannover.
Rod Stewart is due to perform before the bout, when a 40-man choir is to sing the anthems.
