The runner-up in last year's featherweight division at U.S. boxing nationals has been banned for two years for doping.
Jerren Cochran of Houston accepted the ban Friday, five months after testing positive for a diuretic in an out-of-competition test. His suspension is retroactive to Feb. 1.
It's the second doping violation handed down to a boxer in two days. On Thursday, the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency announced a two-year suspension of Jesus Gomez for refusing to take part in a doping test in February.
