There's now more smoke to the notion that boxing great Floyd Mayweather might be ready to come out of retirement for at least one more fight.

After Mayweather told Jim Gray over the weekend that he'd had discussions with CBS and Showtime about a return, ESPN's Darren Rovell reported that Mayweather had filed for trademarks on the terms "TMT 50" and "TBE 50."

The initials stand for The Money Team and The Best Ever. The 50? Well, Mayweather retired at 49-0 ... so the math is pretty self-evident.

According to Rovell, Mayweather's team has filed for more than 140 trademarks over the years and owns more than 35. You can see both the TMT 50 and TBE 50 trademark requests on the US Patent and Trademark website.

Mayweather told Gray that despite being happily retired, he'd been getting some "crazy numbers thrown my way" and that "you just never know" if he might come back.

He also said that if he did come back, it would have to be for a nine-figure payday and almost certainly a title shot.

Is he coming out of retirement? Here's the video of his interview with Gray -- judge for yourself:
