The Chinese city of Chongqing will host the women's boxing world championships in 2012.
The International Amateur Boxing Association announced the decision Tuesday after a three-day executive committee meeting in Marrakech.
The championships will serve as the only qualifying event for the 2012 London Olympics, where women's boxing will be on the program for the first time.
AIBA also decided on venues for men's Olympic qualifying events: Casablanca, Morocco, for Africa; Rio de Janeiro for the Americas; Istanbul, Turkey, for Europe; and Astana, Kazakhstan, for Asia. Darwin, Australia, was provisionally chosen as host of the Oceania qualifying event.
