McMullen happy to be back in NASCAR
Harry McMullen has been named the new general manager for Kevin Buckler’s The Racers Group (TRG) Motorsports.
McMullen, 53, spent 30 years with the team now known as Roush Fenway Racing. He was working as the GM there when he parted ways with the company.
McMullen returns to NASCAR following a three-year absence from the garage, during which the Brooklyn, N.Y.-native did consulting and worked with Doug Herbert in the NHRA.
“I thought this looked like a good opportunity to grow a race team,” McMullen said. “With an owner who’s committed like Kevin, a crew chief like Doug Richert and a driver like Andy Lally, I believe there’s a lot of potential here.”
McMullen was recommended to TRG by former GM and chief marketing officer Torrey Galida, who vacated the position to become chief operating officer at Richard Childress Racing.
