Kaytron Allen - Nearly logs 100 total yardsAllen recorded 18 carries for 81 yards and gathered in both targets for 13 yards during Saturday's 33-24 victory against Indiana.
ImpactAllen paced the Nittany Lions in both rushing attempts and yards ahead of fellow sophomore Nicholas Singleton (15 carries, 50 yards, one touchdown). The 222-pound Allen has been the more effective between-the-tackles rusher for Penn State this season, averaging 4.6 yards per carry. However, Singleton has, at times, provided more explosiveness in both the rushing and receiving games, and he's totaled a team-high eight touchdowns compared to just three for Allen. Expect these two to continue splitting duties in the rushing game moving forward.

Nicholas Singleton - Scores in tight winSingleton recorded 15 rushes for 50 yards and one touchdown and reeled in five of seven targets for 31 yards during Saturday's 33-24 victory over Indiana.
ImpactSingleton worked his way back up to double-digit carries after logging just nine during last week's loss to Ohio State. The sophomore running back also logged a season-high in targets, though he still finished behind fellow sophomore Kaytron Allen in terms of carries (18) and rushing yards (81). However, both still logged the exact same number of touches, and Singleton tallied the team's lone rushing score. Singleton leads the Nittany Lions in total touchdowns this season with eight, but he's only logged one score over the last three games. He and Allen should continue to split duties out of the backfield versus Maryland in Week 10.
