PHOENIX (AP) Brittney Griner set career highs with 27 points and 18 rebounds to lead the Phoenix Mercury to a 92-79 win over the Minnesota Lynx on Wednesday night.
Phoenix (8-3) has won four of its last five games while the Lynx, who entered the game in first place in the WNBA's West Conference, has lost three of its last four. The Mercury outrebounded the Lynx 41-22.
Griner has scored in double figures in 10 of the Mercury's 11 games, and recorded her third double-double of the season. The Mercury also got 22 points and 10 boards from Diana Taurasi and 19 points from Candice Dupree.
The WNBA's leading scorer, Maya Moore, led Minnesota (9-4) with 36 points, two short of her career high. It was the sixth time Moore has scored 30 or more points in a game, which tied a franchise single season record.
It was the Mercury's second win over Minnesota in a span of four days. Phoenix beat Minnesota on Sunday to snap a 10-game losing streak to the Lynx.
SKY 105, LIBERTY 100, OT
ROSEMONT, Ill. (AP) - Epiphanny Prince scored a season-high 30 points and the Sky beat the Liberty to snap a four-game losing streak.
Prince's 3-pointer with 2:28 left in overtime gave the Sky the lead for good at 95-92, and Markeisha Gatling added two free throws after Liberty center Tina Charles fouled out.
Jessica Breland scored 22 points, Courtney Vandersloot and Gatling added 17 and Tamera Young had 11 points and 12 rebounds for the Sky (6-5).
Liberty guard Cappie Pondexter scored 12 points in the fourth quarter but missed a potential winner in the waning seconds of regulation, leaving it tied at 86.
Pondexter finished with 29 points as New York (3-9) dropped its fourth straight and seventh in eight games. Charles had 25 points.
DREAM 83, MYSTICS 73
ATLANTA (AP) - Angel McCoughtry matched her season high with 27 points to help Atlanta beat Washington for its fifth straight victory.
McCoughtry scored 18 points in the second half for the Dream (8-3). Rookie point guard Bria Hartley led Washington (5-7) with 16 points, and Emma Meesseman added 15.
