The seventh winner of "The Ultimate Fighter" tries to rebound from a disappointing loss nearly one year ago when he returns to the Octagon against Wand Fight Team product Lopez, who also suffered defeat in his UFC debut last September.
Sadollah, 31, a talented sambo and muay thai practitioner, trains out of Xtreme Couture and Throwdown Training Center in Las Vegas. He was last seen in August 2011 dropping a decision to well-travelled journeyman Duane Ludwig.
Sadollah made his professional debut in the final of "The Ultimate Fighter," so he still has much to learn in the sport. However, victories over C.B. Dollaway, Phil Baroni and DaMarques Johnson have stood out as impressive achievements in his young career.
Lopez, 23, was outpointed in his promotional debut against Justin Edwards in September. On regional circuits, Lopez has amassed notable wins over Isidro Gonzalez, Chidi Njokuani, Waachim Spiritwolf and David Marshall.
Primarily a striker, Lopez could be playing into Sadollah’s hands. With similar styles, both fighters will likely engage in a kickboxing match. Sadollah’s speed, footwork and accuracy could be the difference makers. Conversely, Sadollah has traditionally shown defensive weaknesses that Lopez could be looking to exploit by finding his range.
Sadollah is constantly evolving and with more big league experience under his belt, he should find success with his striking, outpointing Lopez over three competitive rounds.
