He's just 3-4 in his past seven bouts, and it remains to be seen how much he has left in the tank against an opponent who's made a name for himself as one of the most entertaining fighters in the division.

Impact Competing in his 26th UFC fight dating back to February 2013, it is exceedingly rare we see Magny overwhelmed to this level. He struggles at times in fights but typically gets things back on track at some point. He never got the chance here. Magny was overwhelmed by the debuting Amosov giving up an easy takedown and getting worked over before being choked out. When you see a performance like this at 38 years old, it's fair to wonder if the end is near. Magny is just 3-4 in his past seven fights, but those four setbacks have come against Amosov, Carlos Prates, Michael Morales, and Ian Garry. In other words, the elite of the elite at 170 pounds. The UFC has to match him up softer moving forward or else this is going to be the end result.

Impact Not only did Magny look completely shot the first two rounds, he was also deemed to have tapped out with a second left in the opening frame. For some reason, referee Jim Perdios appeared to reverse his decision and allow the fight to continue. Magny wasn't out cold and he never submitted, so justice was served, but it was a strange set of circumstances. Neil went on to drop Round 2 before finding a second wind and putting Matthews away midway through Round 3. It was nearly a carbon copy of Magny's win over Elizeu Zaleski dos Santos last month, in which he started slowly before finding the stoppage. The 38-year-old Magny is a shell of what he once was at this stage of his career, but he's clearly never going to quit on himself.
