Drops title in total rout Pena lost the UFC Women's Bantamweight Championship on Saturday, falling to Kayla Harrison via submission (kimura) at 4:55 of Round 2 at UFC 316 in Newark, New Jersey. Impact It went as most everyone predicted, with Pena having absolutely zero chance of matching the brute strength and physicality of Harrison. Pena gave up one takedown in each round and would have spent the entire remaining time of each frame on her back had she not been docked a point by referee Vitor Ribeiro in Round 1 for an illegal upkick. He reset the fighters afterwards and that was the only reason she was able to get back to her feet. Pena was well on her way to being down 20-17 on the scorecards after 10 minutes before tapping out to a kimura with just seconds remaining in Round 2. Set to turn 36 years of age in August, Pena is a two-time UFC champion and no one can ever take that away from her, but her days of being involved in the title picture have come and gone.
