San Lorenzo players wear kits they swapped with Chapecoense players in Copa semis

As an emotional memorial for the victims of this week's tragic plane crash was held at Chapecoense's Arena Conda in Brazil, another tribute took place in Argentina. A number of players on San Lorenzo, the team that Chapecoense eliminated in the Copa Sudamerica semifinal, wore Chapecoense kits ahead of Saturday's match against Olimpo.

The kits they wore were the ones they received from Chape players after that semifinal, in the post-match tradition that players often participate in of swapping jerseys with opponents.

San Lorenzo drew Chapecoense 0-0 when they met in the semifinal, but Chape advanced to the Copa Sudamericana final with an edge on away goals after a 1-1 draw in the first leg. Chapecoense were on their way to the final in Medellin, Colombia when the plane they were flying on reportedly ran out of fuel and crash-landed, killing 71 people and leaving six survivors.

San Lorenzo's players didn't wear the kits during the match, but the remembrance for those killed in the crash didn't stop after the pregame ceremony. The Argentine club also wore kits emblazoned with Chapecoense's crest and a ribbon.
