Speculation was rife during the first half of last season that the veteran playmaker would leave Italy at the end of the 2013-14 campaign but the Italy international ultimately penned a new two-year deal with the Bianconeri. Pirlo has now admitted that while he did not feel that the time was right to move abroad this summer, he is open to moving to the United States in the future.
"Serie A is a league of a very high level and my life in Italy is comfortable," the Azzurri midfielder told reporters on Saturday. "I would have had no reason to leave. Instead, I will play two more years with Juventus and then, maybe, I will move to MLS."
Pirlo also played down his brilliance as a player, insisting that he is merely fortunate to have been blessed with such genius.
"Maybe I was born lucky," he mused. "Mother Nature made me like this and has given me the ability and the talent to be successful ... And I'm grateful for this."
Pirlo joined Juventus on a free transfer from AC Milan in the summer of 2011 and has since inspired the Old Lady to three successive Scudetti.
