Teams reportedly calling Cowboys about trading for Darren McFadden

Rookie running back Ezekiel Elliott gave the Dallas Cowboys a lot to cheer for in his pro debut last week. And it appears rival teams were also taking notice.

NFL.com reported Tuesday that teams have reached out to the Cowboys regarding the availability of veteran running back Darren McFadden. But, according to the report, it looks like the Cowboys are not interested in trading the former first-round pick.

McFadden spent his first seven years in the league with the Raiders after the team drafted him fourth overall in 2008. He played in all 16 games last season with the Cowboys, rushing for 1,089 yards on 4.6 yards per carry in his first season in Dallas.

Elliott, who missed the Cowboys' first two preseason games with a hamstring injury, ran for 48 yards on seven carries in one quarter against the Seahawks' first-team defense last Thursday. But despite that stellar performance, it looks like Dallas wants to keep its depth at running back, especially after seeing Tony Romo go down with a broken bone in his back.
