Doug Williams compares Jameis Winston to LeBron James

Speaking with media on Wednesday, former NFL quarterback Doug Williams raved about Tampa Bay Buccaneers rookie quarterback Jameis Winston.

Williams and Winston have had a relationship ever since Winston won the Heisman Trophy two years ago.

“I believe in him,” Williams said about the No. 1 overall pick of the 2015 NFL Draft.

Williams also made a stunning statement regarding Winston’s personality, comparing him to the most recognizable basketball player on the planet:

"Jameis has got charisma galore. There's only two guys I've seen at that young age impress like that — Jameis and LeBron James. Jameis is like a young LeBron James. His confidence level is so high he feels there's nothing he can't do," Williams said, according to USA Today's Jim Corbett.

The charisma Williams speaks of is undeniably evident. Wherever Winston goes, whomever he talks to, he’s almost always upbeat and eager to lift others into the emotional stratosphere where he dwells.

Williams has been around professional athletes for his entire adult life. He’s won a Super Bowl MVP for his contributions to Washington’s victory in Super Bowl XXII. He says Winston can do even more in Tampa Bay.

"If Tampa can protect him, the sky's the limit. He can win multiple Super Bowls.''
