After scoreless 2015, Melvin Gordon rushes in two TDs in first half

The San Diego Chargers took former Wisconsin star running back Melvin Gordon with the 15th overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft, and though he started 12 games for the Chargers last season and appeared in 14, Gordon never once found the endzone. He rushed for 641 yards on 184 carries as a rookie and hauled in 33 receptions, but didn't record a touchdown before a knee injury knocked him out in December.

Gordon had microfracture sugery to repair his knee, but he's back in a big way. It took less than two quarters for Gordon to put 12 points on the board for San Diego Sunday against the Chiefs. Gordon broke loose for a 17-yard rush to put the Chargers in the red zone on their first offensive drive of the year, and after a pass interference penalty moved the Chargers up to the 1, Gordon punched in his first career touchdown on the next play.

The Chargers marched 80 yards on their next series, which ended with a 6-yard Gordon rush to give San Diego a 14-3 lead.
