Chargers might use some emergency options at tight end vs. Detroit

Published Sep. 10, 2015 11:43 p.m. ET

The Chargers are dangerously thin at tight end just days before their first game.

The team announced Ladarius Green -- the second-stringer pegged to fill in for suspended star Antonio Gates -- suffered a potential concussion in Thursday's practice. His status for Week 1 is now in question.

Also questionable is the the Chargers' depth chart at tight end. They re-signed John Phillips just days after his release. The other tight ends on the roster are David Johnson and Kyle Miller.

The Bolts will find it tough to fill in for Gates without some better options.
