Robert Griffin III met with the Cleveland Browns

Former Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III met with the Cleveland Browns on Saturday on an official visit, sources tell FS1 NFL Insider Mike Garafolo.

The meeting was said to be a "good visit," Garafolo reports.

The free-agent quarterback, cut by the Redskins on March 7, has also visited with the New York Jets -- though Jets GM Mike Maccagnan has since called it "more of a meet-and-greet" and announced the team's main focus was re-signing veteran QB Ryan Fitzpatrick.

The Browns, who were interested in drafting Griffin four years earlier, are still on the hunt for a franchise quarterback (they officially released Johnny Manziel last Friday).

Time will tell if Griffin will fit that bill. After a hot start to his NFL career, the former rookie of the year was plagued by knee injury and started 20 games in 2013 and 2014. He was inactive for the entire 2015 season. The team then turned to Kirk Cousins.
