Raiders' McGill outplaying former first-rounder for starting CB spot

DJ Hayden's starting cornerback spot could be in jeopardy.

Keith McGill, who headed to Oakland as the 116th overall pick in 2014, has stepped in for starter's snaps opposite T.J. Carrie, according to ESPN. That leaves Hayden, a former first-round pick, as the odd man out at cornerback.

That is, unless, you consider all three players will see significant time thanks to multiple wide receiver sets. But it could be McGill, not Hayden, who lines up across from No. 1 receivers like Demaryius Thomas and Jeremy Maclin in the AFC West this fall.

That could indicate Oakland got a steal in McGill -- or it could tell what a new coaching regime really thinks of Hayden.
