Steelers will sit best players in Hall of Fame game Sunday

Steelers coach Mike Tomlin isn't taking any chances with an extra preseason game on his team's schedule.

Tomlin announced Friday that offensive stars Ben Roethlisberger, Antonio Brown, Le'Veon Bell, and Maurkice Pouncey will not dress for Sunday night's Hall of Fame game against the Vikings. Tight end Heath Miller and linebacker James Harrison will also sit.

Backup quarterback Landry Jones will start, and could even play the entire game according to Tomlin.

"You’re going to see a lot of Landry Jones," said Tomlin via Steelers.com. "He’s going to play a lot. We don’t have a pre-determined snap count, but we’re going to play him until we’ve seen enough, and then maybe give somebody else some work. (Jones) could play the entire game, or he could play the majority of the game. Our intent is to get a good look at him."
