Source: Eagles trying out kickers after Cody Parkey injury
The Philadelphia Eagles are bringing in kickers for tryouts Monday with Cody Parkey having aggravated a preseason groin injury, a source told FOXSports.com.
Parkey is three for four on his field goal attempts this season and made his lone attempt from 30 yards in Sunday's 24-17 win over the New York Jets. Parkey, though, has struggled getting distance on his kickoffs. All four of his kickoffs were returned by the Jets.
Parkey ranks at the bottom of the league with only 21.5 percent of his kickoffs (three of 13) going for touchbacks. Parkey's touchback percentage during his 2014 rookie season with the Eagles was 46.9 (46 of 98). The former Auburn standout also made 88.9 percent of his field-goal attempts (32 of 36) and all 54 of his extra points last year.
It wasn't immediately known whether Parkey would be healthy enough to kick for the Eagles in Sunday's upcoming game against Washington.
