Peyton Manning uses 'Forrest Gump' quote to sidestep Tennessee question

After an emotional address on Monday in which legendary quarterback Peyton Manning reviewed his time in Indianapolis and Denver and discussed the things he would miss most about football, Manning opened the the floor to questions.

"First off, this a joyous day, nothing can overtake this day," Manning said. "I think it is sad that some people don't understand the truth and the facts. I did not do what has been alleged, and I'm not interested in re-litigating something that happened when I was 19 years old."

"Like Forest Gump said," Manning concluded, "'That's all I have to say about that.'"

"Life is like a box of chocolates," Forrest Gump also famously said. "You never know what you're gonna get."

Manning had to know he would get the question and good for USA Today reporter Lindsay Jones for asking it. But some have accused her of raining on Peyton's parade. Here's what she said about it afterwards:
