Peyton Manning pays tribute to Pat Summitt: ‘I love her very much’

Peyton Manning is one of the most famous and successful alums Tennessee will ever produce, and yet his mark on the history of sports can’t remotely compare to Pat Summitt’s.

That’s how difficult it is to properly encapsulate what Summitt, the legendary Tennessee women’s basketball coach who died Tuesday at the age of 64, meant to Tennessee, college basketball as a whole and the conversation at large around women’s sports and female athletes in America.

Manning tried to put into words Tuesday what Summitt meant to him as he paid tribute to the Vols icon.
