New England Patriots: Boomer Esiason Calls Tom Brady the GOAT
Many consider New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady to be the greatest of all-time. You can add former quarterback Boomer Esiason to that list.
New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady is without a doubt one of the greatest quarterbacks to ever play in the NFL. He has had plenty of individual and team success, and that it the recipe to be considered the greatest of all-time.
At 39-years-old, Brady is still playing at an extremely high level. Even though his career still isn’t over, Boomer Esiason believes that he is already the greatest quarterback of all-time.
“He’s the greatest of all time. I don’t care what anyone says,” Esiason said on “The Jim Rome Show” on Friday. “I don’t care about Deflategate, Spygate, I don’t care about any of that stuff.
With another possible MVP this season, and the Patriots in the hunt for a Super Bowl ring, Brady’s long list of accomplishments might get even bigger.
“It’s a number of things,” Esiason said. “One, longevity. Two, the success that he’s had in big games. The AFC Championship games, the Super Bowls, they didn’t lose Super Bowls because of his poor play, I can tell you that.”
Despite being suspended for the first four games of the season, Brady is right in the mix of the MVP conversation this season. In 2016, Brady has totaled 22 touchdown passes and just two interceptions.
“He will be in the MVP conversation,” Esiason said, “though some people won’t like that, because he will only have played 12 games, assuming he makes it the rest of the way, but his performance has been just nothing, like I said, short of sensational.”
Being called the greatest of all-time by Esiason is certainly high praise for Brady. In Esiason’s day, he was a pretty good quarterback himself. Also, he knew a thing or two about being a good quarterback.
With no signs of slowing down, Brady will be able to continue to cement his legacy as the greatest quarterback of all-time.
