Peterson held to third-lowest rushing total of career vs. Seattle

Adrian Peterson found little room to run on Sunday, as his Minnesota Vikings were stomped by the Seattle Seahawks, 38-7, at TCF Bank Stadium. He finished the game with a season-low 18 rushing yards on eight carries.

Sunday's loss to the Seahawks marked only the fourth time Peterson was held under 20 yards in his career and the first time since December of 2013. It was also his third-lowest yardage output as a pro.

Peterson was matched by his backup, Jerick McKinnon, who had 18 rushing yards on half as many carries. He tried to get involved in the passing game but gained only six yards on his four receptions. The Vikings only mustered 125 yards of offense in Week 13, and that was a direct result of Peterson's struggles.

In Minnesota's eight wins this season, Peterson has averaged over 125 rushing yards per game. In the four losses, he has averaged less than 45 yards. It's not an easy thing to do, but the key to beating the Vikings is clearly neutralizing the team's All-Pro running back.
