Former Dolphins CB blasts Joe Philbin, blames him for team's issues

There are a lot of unsettled people in Miami right now as the Dolphins are reeling and sitting at 1-2 -- "good" for last in the AFC East. There have been issues on both sides of the ball with the team unable to stop opposing offenses or run the ball with any success at all.

Blame has been put on everyone from Ndamukong Suh to defensive coordinator Kevin Coyle, with head coach Joe Philbin being the guy taking the most heat.

Former Dolphins cornerback Patrick Surtain is one of many unhappy with Philbin's tenure in Miami, and believes he's to blame for the Dolphins' issues.

"They’re taking on the personality of the head coach right now," Surtain said via the Miami Herald." Something has to change. It has to come from a player in the locker room.

"I don’t know if there is a message. What’s the message? He’s not that vocal guy like a Jim Harbaugh or a guy like that. … Jimmy [Johnson] had us on pins and needles. You had to perform or you were out the door."

Since joining the Dolphins, Philbin has a record of 24-27 and has yet to take the team to the postseason. He's likely on the hot seat with Miami failing to meet expectations once again.
