JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) The city of Jacksonville and Jaguars owner Shad Khan have $90 million in upgrades planned for EverBank Field.

The city still needs to get funding approved for its half of the project, which includes remodeled club seating, an indoor practice facility and a 5,000-seat amphitheater. The practice facility and the amphitheater would be outside the south end of the stadium.

Khan already has pledged $45 million toward the project, adding to the $31 million he already invested in the stadium. The billionaire spent $20 million for the world's largest scoreboards last year and $11 million for locker room and training room renovations in 2013.

''I'm sincere in my commitment to Jacksonville and am extremely optimistic that we're moving in the right direction, on and off the field,'' Khan said in a statement Thursday. ''We can never stand still, however. We can never underestimate the importance of exploring all means possible to strengthen the future of the Jaguars here in Jacksonville.''

Under the latest proposal:

-The US Assure Clubs would undergo a complete facelift, including the installation of a glass wall between the upper and lower clubs and the field.

-A multi-purpose facility would be built that would serve as an indoor practice facility for the Jaguars as well as hospitality, activation and fan engagement events.

-A 5,000-fixed-seat amphitheater would be built adjacent to the practice facility. It would attract more concerts, shows and events to Jacksonville. The amphitheater would include berm seating for an additional 4,000 seats.

The project is designed to bring more people to downtown Jacksonville and possibly enhance future bids for College Football Playoff games and other major sporting events.
