When the Jacksonville Jaguars decided to give the kicking job to Jason Myers over longtime incumbent Josh Scobee, head coach Gus Bradley acknowledged there would likely be some growing along the way for the rookie, including times he would miss kicks.

Sunday, against the Indianapolis Colts, that prediction came true, as the rookie missed two opportunities to give Jacksonville the win. Myers missed a potential game-winners from 53-yards out at the end of regulations and again from 48 yards in overtime.

Instead, the Colts emerged with a 16-13 win.

“I didn’t do my part today,” Myers said, per the Florida Times-Union.

Myers, who missed a field goal attempt and an extra point in Jacksonville's season-opening loss to the Carolina Panthers, said that experience will help him move past his struggles on Sunday.

“I fall back on how I didn’t have a great first game of the season,” Myers said. “I came back the next week and did my part. Now, I’m going to get back to work this week on the practice field.”

While the two misses proved costly, Myers connected field goals of 20 and 32 yards earlier in the game against Indianapolis.
