Green Bay Packers WR Jared Abbrederis injured; not knee-related

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Jared Abbrederis returned to the field after undergoing reconstructive surgery, but not for long. During Thursday's training camp practice, Abbrederis fell to the ground hard after going up for a jump ball.

"The way he fell, I don't think it was his knee," Packers head coach Mike McCarthy said, per Tom Silverstein of the Journal Sentinel. Other than that, McCarthy knew nothing about the severity of Abbrederis' injury.

Drafted in the fifth-round out of Wisconsin in the 2014 NFL Draft, Abbrederis tore his ACL during the first week of last year's training camp. Although he has made a full recovery after missing his entire rookie year, this latest injury leads one to question the young receiver's durability.

In other injury news, cornerback Quinten Rollins' non-football injury (NFI) list designation is the result of a hamstring injury suffered two weeks ago, according to Ryan Wood of Press-Gazette Media.

Rollins, a second-round pick in this year's draft, is supposed to be competing for reps at cornerback this summer. Sam Shields has one outside job locked up and Casey Hayward is in line to take over the starting job opposite him, but Rollins was being considered with Micah Hyde and first-round rookie Damarious Randall for a role in the nickel package.

"It's definitely tough watching," Rollins said, via the Journal Sentinel. "I'm fighting for a job, but if I go out there and get hurt even more then there's no job to fight for."

Rollins is eligible to return as soon as he's healthy and able to pass the team's physical.
