Gisele Bündchen says Tom Brady had a concussion last year

At no point last year was Tom Brady ever documented with a concussion on the NFL's injury list. But according to his wife, Brady may have dealt with one.

Brady's supermodel wife, Gisele Bündchen, made an appearance on "CBS This Morning" on Wednesday and explained why she asked her husband to retire from the NFL after he won the Super Bowl in February. Bündchen told Charlie Rose that she was concerned about concussions affecting Brady's long-term health.

"He had a concussion last year," Gisele said. "I mean he has concussions pretty much every ... I mean, we don't talk about. But he does have concussions."

The NFL issued a statement regarding Bündchen's comments.

“We have reviewed all reports relating to Tom Brady from the unaffiliated neurotrauma consultants and certified athletic trainer spotters who worked at Patriots’ home and away 2016 season games as well as club injury reports that were sent to the league office,” the statement reads. “There are no records that indicate that Mr. Brady suffered a head injury or concussion, or exhibited or complained of concussion symptoms. Today we have been in contact with the NFLPA and will work together to gather more information from the club’s medical staff and Mr. Brady. The health and safety of our players is our foremost priority and we want to ensure that all our players have and continue to receive the best care possible.”

Was she about to say he has concussions every year? That would be a newsworthy development, considering Brady hasn't been listed on the injury report with a concussion dating back to 2003, per the Boston Herald's Jeff Howe.

It'll be interesting to see what comes of Gisele's comments and whether the Patriots and/or Brady respond moving forward.
