Former San Francisco 49ers fullback Bruce Miller’s Monday arrest for allegedly assaulting a 70-year-old man and his son has already cost him his spot on the team. Now it could cost him his freedom as well.

According to the San Francisco District Attorney’s Office, Miller, 29, was charged Thursday with seven felonies and one misdemeanor, including assault with a deadly weapon – a cane.

Several of the charges include elder abuse enhancements, according to NBCBayarea.com.

The 49ers released Miller on Monday afternoon, only hours after his Monday morning arrest. According to police sources cited in a KTVU.com report, Miller tried to check into the Fisherman’s Wharf Marriott early Monday morning but was told there were no vacancies. He then knocked on a guest’s door and was told he had the wrong room. Miller then allegedly attacked the 70-year-old guest and his son – apparently using a cane -- resulting in injuries that sent both to the hospital. Miller reportedly fled and was later arrested.

Late Sunday night, he reportedly was thrown out of a San Francisco restaurant after getting in an argument over a sandwich with other customers.

In June 2015, Miller pleaded no contest to a misdemeanor domestic violence charge that was reduced to misdemeanor disturbing the peace upon conviction.

The 2011 seventh-round pick played five seasons with the 49ers.
