Five players for AFC West fans to watch in the CFP Championship

All four member teams from the AFC West better bring a few extra napkins to scout the 2016 College Football Playoff Championship game.

That's because Alabama and Clemson both sport rosters that are downright drool-worthy. It'll be tough for talent evaluators not to salivate when they battle in Glendale, Ariz.

Here's who the Denver Broncos, Kansas City Chiefs, Oakland Raiders, and San Diego Chargers should prioritize when they take in the title bout on Monday night:

1. O.J. Howard, TE, Alabama

Howard only started one season, but played in all three years at Alabama. He snagged 61 catches, 864 receiving yards  and two touchdowns in his career. A dynamic athlete at the tight end position, Howard has excellent combination of blocking and receiving that could be better utilized at the NFL level.

2. Shaq Lawson, DE, Clemson

A dynamic pass rusher who eased the pain of losing of Vic Beasley, Clemson’s Shaq Lawson was stellar for the Tigers in 2015. The ACC Defensive Player of the Year and AP All-American racked up 79 tackles, 21 TFLs and 7.5 sacks and is sure to be one of the first DE’s taken off the board in the 2016 draft. The 6-3, 270-pounder ended the year as a Lombardi Award and Nagurski Award finalist and commands attention on every single snap.

3. Ryan Kelly, C/OL, Alabama

6’5”, 297 lbs. 2015 consensus All-American. Rimington Trophy Award winner, given annually to the nation’s top center. SEC Scholar Athlete of the Year, received the Jacobs Blocking Trophy as the conference’s top lineman from the SEC. Three-year starter at center. Makes all the offensive line calls for the Tide.

4. Jayron Kearse, S, Clemson

The total package at safety, Clemson’s 6-5, 220-pound Jayron Kearse is a two-year starter who was named an all-ACC first-teamer after compiling 52 tackles and a career-best 6.5 tackles for a loss. Kearse has good speed and can deliver a hit when he meets his target.

5. A’Shawn Robinson, DT, Alabama

Try Robinson's stats on for size: the 312-pounder has 129 career tackles from the defensive tackle position in three seasons. He has a bit of pass-rushing pop (nine sacks) but truly excels at shutting the run down.
