Colts WR Donte Moncrief will miss 4-6 weeks with fractured scapula
The hits keep on coming for the 0-2 Indianapolis Colts. Already guiding a team with a decimated defensive secondary, Colts coach Chuck Pagano revealed Wednesday that one of Indy’s best offensive players – receiver Donte Moncrief – will miss 4 to 6 weeks with a fractured scapula.
Last season, Moncrief was second on the team in receptions (64) and receiving yards (733) and led the Colts with six touchdown catches. The 2014 third-round pick had seven catches for 73 yards and a touchdown this year before leaving Indianapolis’ Week 2 loss to Denver in the first quarter.
The Colts’ 29th-ranked defense has been the team’s problem in its slow start, but losing Moncrief won’t do anything to help a passing offense that hasn’t been good enough to outscore opponents.
