Hue Jackson vows the Browns will win a game 'somehow, someway'

Only one team in NFL history has gone 0-16. There’s a team in grave danger of joining the 2008 Lions in that regard, and it’s the 2016 Browns. They’ve lost their first nine games of the season and there is little hope that they’ll win a game in 2016. Their players have continued to play hard and fight week in and week out, but it may not be enough to capture that elusive first victory.

Linebacker Chris Kirksey said this week that he guarantees the Browns won’t go winless this season, and he’s got the backing of his head coach to support him.

"I support him 100 percent,'' Hue Jackson said, via Cleveland.com. "Somehow, someway, we are going to find a way not to be 0-16. That's not where we want to be. We don't want to be 0-9 right now to be very honest with you. We're going to fight our tails off, and it starts on Thursday night again.”

The Browns are set to take on the first-place Ravens Thursday night, a game where they could potentially eke out a victory thanks to the short week. That’s no certainty as we’ve seen how the Browns have played this season, but it wouldn’t be a complete and utter surprise.

Regardless of how poorly the season has gone, Jackson remains positive.

"I do believe there are a lot of good things that are going on here. It just hasn't shown up in the win ledger,” he said. “That's unfortunate because that's why all of us do what we do. It's about wins and losses.''
