It’s a tradition like no other. Former Miami Dolphins running back Mercury Morris — a member of the 1972 undefeated championship team — delivered his reaction to the Carolina Panthers dropping their first game of the season in a 20-13 Week 16 loss to the Atlanta Falcons.

Morris has become known for his proclivity to provide his two cents when the final remaining undefeated team loses every season, but he made sure to provide a caveat this time — he’s still pulling for Cam Newton and the Panthers.

Morris also cleared up the rumor that he and his former teammates pop open the champagne every season when the last undefeated team loses.
