Beef squashed? Richard Sherman gets props from Darrelle Revis
Sherman felt that he, not Revis, was the NFL's best cornerback and he wasn't shy about expressing that opinion to anyone who would listen. In fact, Sherman's belief quickly turned into a Twitter war last offseason, following a year when Sherman excelled and Revis was laid up with an injury. Let me refresh your memory:
I never seen a man before run his mouth so much like girl. This dude just steady putting my name in his mouth to get notoriety @rsherman_25— Darrelle Revis (@Revis24) February 20, 2013
@Revis24 don't need ya name... Ur name will be irrelevant once u step back on the field bruh. Get ya picks up!— Richard Sherman (@RSherman_25) February 20, 2013
That's like you saying your better then Deion Sanders & since he's not playing no more he's irrelevant for what he's done. @rsherman_25— Darrelle Revis (@Revis24) February 20, 2013
Hey everyone @rsherman_25 wants to be a lockdown corner. He wants to be in the talks of a lockdown corner. So follow him so he can become 1!— Darrelle Revis (@Revis24) February 20, 2013
Got off my flight to this hilarious convo. So I have 8 picks 3 ff and a sack. My season stats looking like Revis career stats— Richard Sherman (@RSherman_25) February 20, 2013
For the QB not throwing his way argument. In his 2nd year they were throwing his way. I still doubled his picks— Richard Sherman (@RSherman_25) February 20, 2013
You get the idea. Sherman took it a step further, heading out to Bourbon Street in the week leading up to Super Bowl XLVII, interviewing fans on the street and asking who the best cornerback in the game was in a hilarious video segment.
Well, all the drama seems to have fallen by the wayside. After Sherman and his Seahawks demolished the Broncos in Super Bowl XLVIII on Sunday, one of the people Sherman heard from was Revis. And it appears that the two have patched up whatever beef they had:
@RSherman_25 congrats homie you played great. I hope you straight with the injury.— Darrelle Revis (@Revis24) February 3, 2014
@JoeyD_11 nope I'm actually happy for him.— Darrelle Revis (@Revis24) February 3, 2014
@Revis24 thanks big dog! Much appreciated. I should be cool just a high ankle sprain.— Richard Sherman (@RSherman_25) February 3, 2014
Isn't that nice? It's good to see that both of these great competitors have moved on. Kudos!
