News: Menard finished fourth in the Auto Club 400 at Auto Club Speedway Sunday afternoon.
Impact: Menard continued his strong recent record on the two-mile ovals with an outstanding performance in the Auto Club 400. He piloted the No. 27 Chevrolet in-and-out of the Top 10 over the course of the 200 laps. It was the late cautions that opened the door for Menard to grab track position and shore up his best finish of the season at the Fontana oval. The RCR driver's first Top 5 of the season allows him to climb two spots into ninth-place in the championship point standings.

News: Menard will pilot chassis No. 485 for this weekend's 312-lap event at Phoenix International Raceway. Menard has 16 Sprint Cup Series starts at Phoenix International Raceway with two Top-10 finishes to his credit, rcrracing.com reports.
Impact: Menard is off to a pretty decent start to this season. He hasn't cracked the Top 10 yet, but he does have two Top-15 finishes in the first three races. That has Menard positioned a respectable 12th in the driver standings as we come to PIR. The flat short track in the Arizona desert is not his best oval. Menard's most recent outing here was a 23rd-place effort last November. He'll be challenged to crack the Top 20 in Sunday's Campingworld.com 500.

News: Menard won a random drawing for the Sprint Unlimited pole position and will start first in Saturday night's 75-lap exhibition race at Daytona International Speedway.
Impact: The drawings took place Friday afternoon, and Menard saw his No. 27 drawn with the lucky first spot. This is the RCR driver's third appearance in the Sprint Unlimited and the second time he'll be starting from the pole. Menard's previous best finish is 12th which came in the 2009 event.
