Grabs Daytona 500 Spot Ragan qualified for the Daytona 500 NASCAR Cup Series race at Daytona International Speedway Wednesday night.

Impact There was plenty of competition among the open teams trying to make the field for the Daytona 500 Wednesday night. Ragan posted a lap of 179.283 mph that was well clear of Jimmie Johnson to claim the second of two spots available through lap-timed qualifying. He will pilot the No. 60 Ford and is locked into the field for Sunday's Great American Race.

Impact Ragan will pilot the team's No. 15 Ford with sponsorship by Envision USA. The veteran driver earned a strong eighth-place finish with this race team in the season-opening Daytona 500. Impact Nothing official as of yet, but it looks like Ragan's part-time schedule is heavier than it has been recently. The veteran driver is tabbed for both Daytona races in 2022, and he's eyeing other starts in the schedule. Atlanta Motor Speedway appears to be a priority for Ragan as well.
