Top local receiver stays home, commits to Miles and LSU

Sullivan gives LSU a big target within its WR corps

Elite 2016 receiver prospect Stephen Sullivan committed to hometown LSU over TCU and Mississippi State on Dec. 26. Not only was it a great late-Christmas present for Les Miles and the program, but the Tigers may have garnered a pledge from a potential star.

At 6'6″, 230 pounds, Sullivan is an absolute matchup nightmare for opposing defenses. He has the size of a tight end, and runs like a deer. Perhaps even scarier for future opponents, Sullivan has the frame to put on both weight and strength.

His wingspan and height makes him incredibly tough to defend against on jump-ball situations. Sullivan also appears to be a target on streaks down the sideline — as well as on crossing routes exploiting the heart of the field.

As for an NFL comparison, he is eerily similar to that of current Carolina Panthers receiver Kelvin Benjamin.

It truly was a massive coup for Miles to keep the Donaldsonville native close to home.
